THE ROUTE FOR THOSE WHO LOVE EXHILARATING DESCENTS
This clockwise route is for those who mostly enjoy descents.
The start of the Sella Ronda MTB Tour can be chosen from one of the 4 valleys surrounding the Sella Massif: from Val Gardena, Alta Badia, Arabba or Val di Fassa.
Thanks to several chairlifts and cablecars the height difference to ride up by bike is relatively small in the clockwise route of the Sella Ronda MTB Tour. There are several descents on bike trails, which require a medium level of bike practice. The time needed to complete the tour varies according the ability of the biker: generally from 5 to a maximum of 9 hours, lunch break included.
From Selva di Val Gardena take the Gondola Lift ‘Dantercepies’. Just under the top station there is the first single trail which leads to the Gardena Pass and then continues down until Colfosco. From Corvara there are further two lifts to reach the “Alta Via”, a flowing path up to the Campolongo Pass. Here take the chairlift Campolongo and start the descent on another single trail to Arabba and to the next cable car Porta Vescovo. At the top the bikers can admire the scenic view of the peak of the Marmolada Glacier and the manmade Fedaia Lake. The descent down to the chairlift Saletei is particularly challenging. From the Pordoi Pass there is a long and very panoramic bike trail which leads down to Canazei. Once in Campitello take the cablecar Col Rodella. From the top station on another short descent you will reach the Sella Pass. From there continue on a path just under the Sassolungo mountain until you come back to Selva di Val Gardena.
