THE TOUR FOR THOSE WHO LOVE CHALLENGING CLIMBS
SELLA RONDA MTB Track TOUR Anti-Clockwise
The tour is for those who enjoy more uphill climbs on your bike.
The start of the Sella Ronda MTB Tour can be chosen from one of the 4 valleys surrounding the Sella massif: from Val Gardena, Alta Badia, Arabba or Val di Fassa.
Following the Sella Ronda MTB Tour Anti-Clockwise there is a total height difference of about 1.020 m to be cycled uphill and several descents through single trails or forest roads. Therefore it is more suited to those who enjoy cycling uphill on your MTB or e-bike. The time needed to complete the tour varies according the ability of the biker: from a minimum 6 to a maximum of 9 hours, with a lunch break included.
Starting from Arabba after a short stretch on a tarmac road there is quite a long uphill ride through the woods up to Cherz and further until the meadow of Inzija just above the Campolongo Pass. Here the descent is on a forest road which leads to Corvara. An easy uphill takes you to Colfosco. The gondola lift up at the Gardena Pass allows some rest and the magnificent views of the surrounding mountains before the descent to Selva di Val Gardena. From there with the gondola lift Ciampinoi you arrive just under the Sassolungo Massif and after a short descent on a path used also by hikers you reach the wonderful Stone City “Citta dei Sassi”. The ride is on a flowing path with some sudden steep uphill stretches up to the parking area just under the Sella Pass. From here making the descent and a few bends that sometimes are particularly steep, you arrive in Val di Fassa. From Canazei with the help of two cablecars you reach Col dei Rossi, where you can take in the breathtaking views of the ‘Queen of the Dolomites’, the Marmolada Glacier, and the artificial Fedaia Lake.
A single trail will lead to the chairlift Saletei, which takes you to Pordoi Pass. Form there a long and very panoramic trail takes you up to Burz followed by a more difficult trail downhill back to Arabba.
